Common Name: Aster China Matsumoto Pink Flower Seed

Scientific Name:  Callistephus chinensis

Life Cycle: Annual 

Remarks: Highly uniform, healthy productive plants.

Fully double 2.5-5 cm wide, light pink blooms with glowing, golden-peach centres. Vigorous, densely branching, spray-type plants with pompom-type flowers. The seed has been coated with conventional film-coating for ease of sowing.

 

Type Of Seed: Open pollinated, a non-hybrid type of seed that can reproduce itself to have similar traits the parent plant from one generation to the next. If you are saving the seeds, as long as pollen is not shared between two varieties of the same species, the seeds should remain true to type year after year.


Plant Height: 60 - 80cm

When: Spring or after frost

Sowing Depth + Method: Transplant (recommended) 3mm deep 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Heat and reduced day length initiate flowering. Establish plantings early to avoid short stems.

Direct Sow - After your last frost date and when the soil temperature is 18-21°C. Provide support. Pinching is not required.

Requires fertile, well-drained soil. pH: 5.5-7.5 preferred.

Spacing: 15-30cm apart

Seed to Bloom: 14 weeks

Vase Life:  7-10 days

Harvest: Fresh: Outside ray florets begin to open. Place immediately in water. Dried: When blooms are fully open.
